PROFILE:
Operating under the Office of the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, the Adult Probation Department administers a wide range of programs covering both standard and specialized probation supervision and pretrial and presentence services. Through its programs, the Adult Probation Department provides the court with pertinent information at many stages of the criminal justice process, enhances public safety, compensates victims of crime and holds offenders accountable while affording them opportunities to make positive changes in their lives. 

 
The majority of Adult Probation Department resources are dedicated to probation supervision, while residing in the community. Department probation officers assist individuals in complying with their conditions of supervision through guidance, surveillance and referrals to service providers for treatment, education and employment services.


Essential Duties:
· Supervise and oversee the daily operations of GPS Technicians, ensuring adherence to departmental protocol, policies, and standards.
· Provide leadership, training, support, and performance feedback to assigned GPS staff.
· Coordinate scheduling, workload distribution, and shift coverage for GPS Technicians, including  weekend and holiday coverage.
· Ensure accurate and timely completion of data entry and GPS monitoring tasks by technicians.
· Review and approve documentation, inventory tracking, and equipment maintenance logs.
· Troubleshoot escalated issues related to EM/GPS equipment, software, or case management systems.
· Monitor staff compliance with EM/GPS vendor software and Adult Probation Department systems.
· Serve as liaison with vendors, probation/pretrial officers, victims, the courts, and external agencies for higher-level support and problem resolution.
· Track performance metrics, audit technician files, and ensure completion of annual training requirements.
· Ensure professional conduct, confidentiality, and accountability among supervised staff.
· Prepare reports and attend meetings related to unit performance and operations.
· Perform other duties.

Qualification Requirements:
· Must establish residency in the state of Illinois within six months of employment.
· High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum two years of experience with electronic monitoring systems or in a related supervisory or lead capacity.
· Demonstrated ability to train and supervise a team of technical support personnel.
· Proficiency in case management and EM/GPS software systems.
· Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
· Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
· Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements
· On a continuous basis, alternately sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen and stand in front of employees while conducting training.
· Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies.
· Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
· Lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
· Travel to various sites to conduct and facilitate training.
· Use telephone and computer keyboard daily.
