CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY
ADULT PROBATION DEPARTMENT
Job Title: Clerk V – Location TBD
Division: Clerical
Grade: 11
Salary: $46,941
Bargaining Unit: AFSCME 3696
Reports to: Support Staff Supervisor / Deputy Chief
Essential Duties:
· Input data into the case management system, including the creation of new cases, information obtained from history sheets and files, warrant information, case dispositions, violations, petition information and closing cases.
· Perform record checks on probationers, including determining aliases used.
· Print, mail, and/or deliver case materials as appropriate.
· Answer, screen and forward incoming calls; take and deliver messages.
· Act as back up for front desk receptionist.
· Process, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail/packages.
· Proofread data to ensure accuracy and high quality work product.
· Provide back up for other support staff on as as-needed basis.
· Assist in the Records Room when needed, including filing and boxing closed case files.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Establish residency in the State of Illinois within six months of hire.
· High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, including ability to create documents and spreadsheets, and accurate typing skills (45 wpm).
· Willingness to learn department’s case management system (PROMIS/cFive), which is utilized to enter case-related data
· Possess strong language mechanics – grammar, sentence structure, spelling, proofreading skills.
· Attentiveness to detail and sensitivity to issues of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Possess excellent filing, organizational skills.
· Demonstrates stability under pressure or opposition.
· Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
· Ability to work and interact with staff, public, and defendants/probationers.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
· On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.

· Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
· Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds.
· Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
· Possess the ability to work in-person 100% of the scheduled work week
